Support our Mission

Our mission has never been more important — and we need your help!

More than three decades ago, the idea of preserving enough farmland to make a real difference was just a dream. Since then — with the generous support of our community — we’ve turned that dream into a reality, and we have the opportunity to do so much more.

By preserving farmland, we are investing in our community and shaping the future in a very real and positive way. By preserving farmland, we are leaving a legacy that no one can take away.

Here are a few ways that you can leave your legacy and make a lasting impact on farmland protection in Lancaster County through a contribution to Lancaster Farmland Trust.

SIMPLY GIVE: The strides we’ve made in protecting our farmland are only possible because of the gifts you give today. Whether you commit to a one-time gift, join ‘The Coop’ through a monthly gift; or give in honor/memory of a friend or loved one, your contribution is helping Lancaster Farmland Trust to protect the land we love before it’s too late. Donate now!

GIFTS OF INVESTMENTS: Making a gift of stocks, bonds or mutual funds is easy and may provide you with unique tax benefits.

REMEMBERING US IN YOUR WILL OR ESTATE PLANS:  Planned giving is a way for you to leave the legacy of land protection for future generations of your family and our community by including Lancaster Farmland Trust in your estate plans. Often, it is done in the form of a provision in a will or a charitable trust. Making this gift requires serious thought, beyond simply writing a check.

Planned giving has many benefits:

  • The ability to make a sizeable contribution that may not have been possible otherwise.
  • A charitable deduction dependent on the gifting method.
  • Reduction in or avoidance of probate costs and lower estate tax liability.
  • A partnership with Lancaster Farmland Trust in a far more significant way than you may have thought possible.

When you designate Lancaster Farmland Trust as a beneficiary in your estate plans, you ensure that your interest in preserving Lancaster County’s agricultural way of life is realized forever.

CORPORATE OPPORTUNITIES: We know that the business and corporate community is committed to protecting the land that provides our community with so many benefits – including economic stability. Our corporate sponsorships provide opportunities for visibility in the community by way of a variety of events and initiatives.

GIVE FROM YOUR IRA: Make Lancaster Farmland Trust the beneficiary of your retirement plan. Or, at age 70.5, you can direct your required minimum distribution to Lancaster Farmland Trust without certain tax obligations.

GIVE THROUGH YOUR WORKPLACE: Give your workplace an opportunity to preserve farmland through a workplace giving campaign. The Trust can design a fund drive tailored for your place of business or organization.

Lancaster Farmland Trust’s Tax ID number is: 20-4233446.

In true Lancaster County fashion, Lancaster Farmland Trust is financially efficient. Approximately 90 cents of every dollar contributed goes directly to the cost of preserving farms. Because of the value our community places on teamwork, we depend on volunteers to be active participants in the work we do.
