A Message from Lancaster Farmland Trust

While our beautiful, productive farmland provides its bounty without prejudice, the incidents of the past few weeks have reminded us that inequities in our country and our community have often resulted in the unequal sharing of the bounty.

Lancaster Farmland Trust’s mission is to protect farmland to provide food and sustenance to everyone in our community. While we strive as an organization to be inclusive and diverse, we recognize and acknowledge our shortcomings and are working to do better and be better.

Earlier this year, at our annual retreat, the Board of Trustees of Lancaster Farmland Trust affirmed its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Addressing these issues is now a strategic objective of the organization – recognizing that the mission of the organization will only be achieved when it truly reflects the community it serves.

We are committed to listening, learning, and growing so that we can move forward as a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization that serves the entire community we love and truly fulfills the mission of Lancaster Farmland Trust.
