The Ultimate Apple Cider Taste Test

Apple cider is an autumnal Lancaster County staple, and everyone has their favorite place to go for it! But is Lancaster apple cider really worth the hype? Today, we’re testing three apple ciders – two of which are local to Lancaster County. Ready to see the winner?
Cider A: County Acres Apple Cider
Chandra’s Thoughts: “I would suggest this cider to those who may find traditional apple ciders to be a bit too rich or sweet. More akin to apple juice, there was a clear difference between this cider and other Lancaster locals. It didn’t hold a candle to our Lancaster favorites! I’d rate this one a 2 out of 5.”
Mikaela’s Thoughts: “Somehow the sweetest and least appley, this cider was great on its own, but couldn’t stand a chance next to our two Lancaster County options. I give it a 2.5 out of 5.”
Cider B: Kreider’s Apple Cider
Chandra’s Thoughts: “This cider was rich, sweet, and smooth. While richer than other ciders I’ve had, it’s certainly not overbearing. I would recommend this to any apple cider lover – it did not disappoint! I’d give this cider a 4.5 out of 5.”
Mikaela’s Thoughts: “My lifelong favorite is always sweet and crisp, but it is definitely sweeter than I remembered. I might always grab it for the nostalgia, but it is shockingly not my favorite in this taste test. It’s a close second, so I’ll give it a 4.5/ out of 5.”
Cider C: Cherry Hill Orchards Apple Cider | Crowned Winner!
Chandra’s Thoughts: “Drinking this cider was like biting into a crisp, sweet apple on an autumn day! It was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy, and it embodies everything you want in a local cider. It’s very rich, but not overpowering. A great choice! This cider gets a 4.5 out of 5 from me.”
Mikaela’s Thoughts: “This cider is sweet but not overpowering, crisp and refreshing, and is everything you want in an apple cider. If you are looking for a balanced option, this is my pick! I give it a 5 out of 5”
