Save the Lancaster you love.
Join our push to protect 25,000 more acres of Lancaster’s farmland by 2030.
If you live in Lancaster County, you know that farms are disappearing wherever you look. But you might not realize just how fast it’s happening. Let’s put some numbers to this issue.
- Acres of farmland lost each day
- 8
- Acres of farmland lost every year
- 3000
- Acres of farmland at risk of development
- 300000
Farm loss is a problem you can help solve.
At Lancaster Farmland Trust, we work with farmers to preserve their land as farmland forever. No matter who buys it, no matter how far into the future. We do this by establishing conservation easements—binding legal agreements that even the biggest developers can never overstep.
Right now, there is a years-long waitlist of farmers who want to go through this process.
That’s where you come in.
Because when you donate to Lancaster Farmland Trust, 96% of your gift goes directly to farmland preservation, conservation, and stewardship.
So many farmers are ready to permanently protect the county we call home. But they can’t do it alone. And the longer they’re left waiting, the less farmland there will be to preserve.
Make it Stick
We’re giving away free bumper stickers to help spread the word about farmland preservation.
