It’s officially springtime, which means it’s the start of event season at LFT! Get connected and learn more about agriculture in Lancaster County by checking out some of these exciting upcoming events.
1. The Rhubarb Festival at Kitchen Kettle Village
Want to pay homage to rhubarb, enjoy delicious food, and support LFT? Join us at this two-day festival at Kitchen Kettle Village!
Listen to live music, enjoy delicious demonstrations, and check out the annual Rhubarb Baking Contest during this year’s Rhubarb Festival! Proceeds from the baking contest are donated directly to our mission of saving the land that makes festivals like this possible, so grab your loved ones and head to Kitchen Kettle Village in May!
Want to show even more support for LFT at the festival? Volunteer with us! Volunteers will help sell baked goods, cookbooks, and rhubarb bunches on Saturday, May 16th. To learn more and sign up for a shift, email us at info@lancft.org.
2. Breakfast on the Hershey Farm
Please join us at the Hershey property for a special Breakfast on the Farm to celebrate you, our supporters!
Following breakfast, you’ll get an exciting update on LFT’s work, hear the Hershey family share the history of their farm, and see firsthand the lasting impact your continued support is having on Lancaster’s landscape! Seats are limited, so register today. Click here to register by May 23rd, 2026.
3. Saturday Seedlings: Soil, Seeds & Water
Spend Water Week with LFT and The Wittel Farm! Join us for a special water-themed Saturday Seedlings—a hands-on farm experience where families can learn about how food grows and why our local farmland is so special.
Through fun, interactive activities, children and their grown-ups will see how water brings seeds to life, discover why Lancaster’s rich soil doesn’t need irrigation like other places, and learn what makes our farmland worth protecting forever. Families will compare climates and soil types, plant seeds to take home, and decorate their own watering cans. This is a shared experience for families to learn and get their hands dirty together!
This session is designed for children aged 5-8, but we welcome all children to explore, create, and participate at their own comfort level. Click here to register today!
